A Little Measuring Help
Measure the length and width of one paver, the width of the gap between pavers, and how deep the joint gets filled. Enter all four in inches above.
Measure the overall length and width of the area you're covering (in feet) and multiply them together for your total square footage. For an odd-shaped area, break it into smaller rectangles and do each one separately. The "Need help? Polymeric sand fills the empty space (the joint) between pavers or stones. Wider joints and deeper joints both hold more sand, so increasing either the joint width or the joint depth increases the volume of sand - and the number of bags - the calculator estimates.
