As a result of their continued expansion, Black Diamond Coatings' is now in their third location in three years, which will help accommodate their forecasted growth and rising storage needs. "We moved into our current facility at the end of July last year, which allowed us significant production capacity for our growth plan," said David Warren, president of Black Diamond Coatings. "We look forward to continuing our growth and creating more jobs throughout the Tampa Bay area."
Warren started in the sealer industry as a contractor who was applying sealers, but after becoming discouraged with the existing products on the market, he decided to create better sealers and moved into production. The move to become a manufacturer has proven to be the right choice as they secured a USDA bio-preferred status late in 2015, putting them in a small class of manufacturers who produce certified environmentally friendly products.
Flagstone Pavers, one of Florida's larger paver manufacturers, added Black Diamond Coatings products to its hardscape accessory line in mid-2015, resulting in expanded sales. "We recommend using a commercial grade, high solid, water-based sealer on all new and existing paver surfaces," explained Russell Young, general manager of Flagstone Pavers. "Customers typically install concrete pavers to compliment and highlight an outdoor remodeling project, so sealing keeps the project looking as good as the day it is installed, and the product we recommend is always Black Diamond Coatings."
In addition to growing the business, giving back to the community is also important. In 2015, Warren donated a truck to a local veteran non-profit organization and the company participated in Habitat for Humanity projects. They also provide employees with a paid day each month to volunteer at their favorite charity. Black Diamond Coatings is sponsoring the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Westshore scheduled on April 22, 2016.
